About Me
Hey, I'm Jussi and welcome to my blog.
This is my story from a corporate drone to an online entrepreneur.
Here is my story of how and why I became an online entrepreneur.
I never planned to be an online entrepreneur, nor did it even cross my mind. It was something I had to do.
I know my name can be hard to pronounce. But if you translate it into English word for word - it is "John Goodman."

My Younger Years

I was born in the 1960s in Finland as a firstborn in a working-class family. My childhood was filled with the simple joys of small-town life in the Eastern South of Finland, where the community was so close-knit that even a lost dog made headlines. This peaceful environment shaped my early years, from elementary school through high school.
Growing up, I developed a strong sense of independence and self-reliance, traits that would later prove valuable in my professional life.
My curiosity and determination to understand things deeply led me to approach challenges head-on, often diving into problems to solve them independently.
My work ethic was instilled early – at just 16, I took my first summer job at the same company where my father worked.
That experience marked the beginning of my journey in the professional world, setting the foundation for my career path.
My 9-to-5 Years
I got my first full-time job in 1991. I did change employer a couple of times until I found the job I was working for 20 years in the same firm.
I had quite a well-paid job as a CIO of a large company. It was the same grind from day to day that most of us do, but I wasn't too unhappy. I thought I had a secure job and would be there as long as I retired.
All in all, I have had a typical life like most of us.
Go to school, get a 9-to-5 job, work until retire, and so forth.

The Big Turning Point
In 2016, a sudden job loss became the unexpected catalyst for transforming my life's direction. While initially challenging, this turning point led me to reevaluate my career path and envision a different future.
After years in the traditional corporate world, I realized I was ready for a new chapter that would allow me to fully leverage my experience while pursuing greater independence.
I began exploring opportunities in the information technology sector – a field where I had developed extensive expertise. My years of experience gave me a solid foundation to build something of my own. I was particularly drawn to the potential of online business, where I could create passive income streams while maintaining the flexibility to shape my own schedule.
This vision of combining my technical knowledge with entrepreneurial freedom led me to embark on an exciting new journey as an online entrepreneur.
Being an Online Entrepreneur
Succeeding in an online business isn't easy.
I have been through many struggles trying to find the right business model and determine what I really want from this journey.
When I started, I was all over the place - I did digital marketing, building websites and Amazon FBA at the same time.
I had put myself in the same situation as in my corporate job - I still changed my time to money, only now on my own terms.
What I needed was the focus. It took quite a long time for me to realize that.
I needed to change the course.
Therefore I eliminated everything that didn't move the needle and started focusing on one platform and one business model.
The business model I found is affiliate marketing through blogging. Affiliate marketing is the most passive online business model, which is exactly what I was looking for.

Where I am Today
Because of all my struggles, I have a lot of experience in many online business models, and I know their pros and cons.
After years of being in the trenches every day, I can confidently say that I know what works and what doesn't.
Getting where I am today has been a long and bumpy road.
What has been even more complicated for me is that I have an extremely rare genetic syndrome that has weakened my eyesight.
Now I can say without bragging that I'm very proud of what I have achieved, considering all the obstacles I have faced.
Now I'm making more income than I did in the corporate years. I have learned a lot along the way and can help you avoid making the same mistakes I did.
Some Key Learnings
- Perfectionism is your worst enemy that comes to entrepreneurship. I have been struggling a lot with being a perfectionist myself. I have found myself often tweaking minor things. I have learned that it doesn't have to be perfect. Minimum viable is enough.
- Focus. Choose one business model and go all-in. Choose one platform and master it. Refrain from putting your effort into minor things. Concentrate only on things that move the needle.
- Learn from those who have succeeded. Don't try to figure everything out on your own. Examine what successful people are doing. Please don't copy them but have ideas from them.
- Don't quit. Keep pushing. The reward is worth it.
